The “VIDAL Dictionary” is officially promoted as a “reference work” in France: the “Alexandre Commission”, created by Simone VEIL (French Minister of Health), is responsible for revising and validating the monographs included in the VIDAL.

The 37th edition of the “Dictionary of Pharmaceutical Specialties” becomes the “VIDAL Dictionary”.

These files are gathered in the first “Dictionary of pharmaceutical specialties”. It includes 336 monographs and a pharmaceutical classification (131 laboratories present). Price of the book : 3 gold francs.

Louis VIDAL creates the company OVP (Office de Vulgarisation Pharmaceutique) and the first network of medical visitors in the world, acting on behalf of laboratories.
